Warren Buffett

Of course, this list wouldn’t be complete without the most successful investor of all time, the great Warren Buffett. Worth more than $64.3 billion, Buffet is the perfect example of how you can make a fortune if you do investment right.

At just 20 years old, Buffett took night classes on “Investment Principles” at the University of Nebraska and he also invested in a Sinclair Texaco gas station.

When his personal savings reached $174,000, Buffett bought a five-bedroom house for just $31,000 where he still lives today.

More than successful investing, Buffett also teaches us the valuable lesson of staying frugal and humble despite earning a huge sum of money.

He is one of the richest men in the world yet he continues to live below his means, an important value that all young investors should live by.

The Russian-born investor, entrepreneur and politician may now be worth over $8.9 billion, but he was once like any young investor out there.

In fact, his story is quite inspirations because he started as an economist at the Eltav electric plant in Dagestan. Kerimov’s first major investment was as a 50% stakeholder of Vnukovo Airlines (now S7 Airlines) in the late 90s.

Since then, he was able to build an investment empire by buying 55% of the shares in Nafta Moskva, an oil trading company where he later became the sole owner, a 5% stake in Gazprom, and a 6% share in Sberbank.

Philip Anschutz

American sports fans know Philip Anschutz as a major stakeholder in bot the Los Angeles Kings and Los Angeles Lakers. He also owns multiple sports teams and co-founded Major League Soccer.

Anschutz got a headstart by managing his father’s small oil business. Ten years after, he bought 9 million acres of land on the Utah-Wyoming border and eventually joined the railroad industry with his investment in the Rio Grande industries (RGI).

Today, Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) is one of the biggest sports and music entertainment presenters in the United States and he is worth over $11.5 billion.
